4 day, 17 days

Last night I was so tired.  After work, came home, ate something quick and then went on to run some errands.  By the time I arrived back home, all I wanted to do was to lay down.  So this is the recount of day 4, yesterday.

First of all, I overslept.  I was feeling very sleepy and did not want to get up from bed.  Arrived late to work.  Throughout the day, I felt energized.  I was talking to coworkers about my vegan diet.  Even though I mentioned I wanted pork chops, chicken or beef, I wasn't craving it.  It was more a I can eat it I just choose not to.

There were plenty of temptations...cake and chocolate panettone!  But I stayed strong.  Me...the baker, the sweet lover.  I need to treat myself and bake something vegan friendly to celebrate my first week...that is in 3 more days.

What did you eat on your 4th day???

I haven't done much shopping...budget, no money, I am broke...so I have to work with what I have at hand.  I just got paid, but all the money went to bills...that's life:(

Breakfast:  coffee with soy milk, dry cereal, 1 apple

Lunch:  pita bread, falafel, tahini sauce, raw vegetables (broccoli, cucumber, orange pepper) and water

Snack:  pistachio nuts

Dinner:  rice, white bean stew and green salad (aka romaine lettuce), a banana and a cup of soy milk.

I drank more water today than in previous days and had my afternoon cup of coffee with my new friend...soy!

I might be dreaming, but I do feel more alive.  My belly seems to be shrinking, my face feels radiant, even though my stomach feels at times bubbly.  Headache diminished.  I also started taking a B complex vitamin supplement.  I am more aware of what goes in my body.  This could be more a reaction of venturing in a not so familiar territory.  Regardless of what my final decision in the next 18 days, what I have learned so far, is to moderate what I eat, and eat wisely.  It is true what they say "you are what you eat".

Oh yes, the cheese puffs I was tempted with yesterday went in the trash.

Now back to my yoga,

Maddy
